Jäger Luxury Watch.

This project involved creating a fully custom watch from scratch in Cinema 4D. Every component was modeled individually to achieve precise mechanical accuracy and design detail. Lighting was set up in Octane Render to highlight material properties, reflections, and surface finishes, resulting in a polished, realistic visualization that emphasizes form and craftsmanship.

Breakdown:

The lighting setup was designed to enhance the watch’s form and materials while giving the scene an abstract, visually striking feel. An HDRI provided ambient illumination and environment reflections, while carefully placed key lights emphasized shapes, edges, and focal points, guiding the viewer’s eye through the composition.

Lighting Breakdown:

  • HDRI Environment: Provides realistic ambient lighting and reflective context for metal and glass surfaces.

  • Key Lights: Positioned to accentuate the watch’s contours, highlights, and surface details.

  • Fill / Secondary Lights: Softly illuminate shadowed areas without flattening the overall contrast.

  • Specular / Accent Lights: Added to create dynamic reflections on metallic elements and glass surfaces, reinforcing material realism.

  • Overall Composition: Lights were balanced to maintain focus on the watch while supporting the abstract scene’s mood.

Texture Breakdown

Description:
The watch materials were carefully designed to convey contrast, depth, and realism. A combination of procedural and hand-crafted textures emphasizes the form and materiality of each element, giving the watch a refined, detailed appearance.

Texture Breakdown:

  • Main Diffuse: A marble rock texture applied to the interior surfaces of the watch, providing natural variation and subtle elegance.

  • Normal & Alpha Maps: Created in Photoshop to add depth, relief, and fine surface details to the marble interior.

  • Logo & Font: Separate bronze material applied to logo and inscriptions for contrast, emphasizing readability and luxury.

  • Material Integration: All textures were carefully tuned in Cinema 4D/Octane to ensure consistent reflections, highlights, and visual cohesion across the model.

Close-up Shot

In this close-up, the focus was on examining and refining the material at a micro level. Subtle imperfections—scratches, roughness variations, and tiny surface details—were added to break uniformity and enhance realism, ensuring the watch feels tangible and believable even at extreme proximity.
